MediaTek Unveils New Dimensity 9500S Platform
MediaTek has officially announced its new platform, the Dimensity 9500S, targeting the flagship system-on-chip segment. The size of this SoC is comparable to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5; however, the graphics processor of the Dimensity 9500S is significantly larger, as shown in the following comparative image.
The Dimensity 9500S features a 12-core GPU G925, significantly enhancing energy efficiency and the performance of the graphics subsystem.

Fabricated using TSMC’s 3nm technology, this system is equipped with a CPU configuration of 4 super-cores plus 4 large cores, offering a performance boost while reducing power consumption. In benchmarks, it scores over 3.6 million points.
New Powerhouse in the Market: Redmi Turbo 5 Max
The first smartphone featuring this SoC will be the Redmi Turbo 5 Max, expected to hit the market soon. With its enhanced capabilities, it’s poised to attract tech enthusiasts seeking premium performance without the premium price tag.
Industry experts note that the use of 3nm technology in the Dimensity 9500S allows for remarkable improvements in both power efficiency and thermal management, setting new standards in the market for flagship smartphones. Comparisons with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 suggest a competitive edge, particularly in graphics-driven applications.
“The G925 GPU inside the Dimensity 9500S represents not just an incremental improvement, but a significant leap in graphical processing for mobile devices,” noted a leading tech analyst.
As 2026 unfolds, the success of the Dimensity 9500S will likely impact MediaTek’s positioning in the high-end mobile processor market, with potential benefits extending to partners like Redmi.
