Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Enlarges Imaging Ambitions with New Camera Features

Insider Ice Universe has unveiled details about the new 24-megapixel shooting mode in the cameras of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra series smartphones. According to him, this mode will not be directly visible in the standard camera interface. To activate it, users will need to open the Camera Assistant application and enable a separate switch in the advanced resolution settings section.

It is also reported that the 24 MP mode will be available for both regular shooting and portrait mode, but exclusively on Galaxy S26 smartphones. Even if the Galaxy S25 uses the same camera sensor, it will not support the new mode-this feature will be a software exclusive to the new generation devices.

Previously, sources have already reported that Samsung is preparing two key improvements in mobile photography for the Galaxy S26. In addition to the 24-megapixel mode, the company plans to introduce HDR10+ support in video and professional video mode instead of standard HDR, which should significantly enhance the dynamic range and image quality.

The 24 MP mode is expected to occupy an intermediate position between the familiar 12 and 50 megapixels available in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It should combine the high speed of the basic mode with enhanced detail. Such a shooting mode is present in the iPhone, and Samsung is finally implementing a similar option in its flagships.

It was previously known that the Samsung Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra will go on sale on March 11. Ice Universe was the first to accurately report on the new trend of smartphones with waterfall screens, the notch in the iPhone X, the new design of the iPhone 14, and Samsung’s 200-megapixel image sensor. Exclusive information about the new products is leaked to him by sources in the research and development department of the South Korean giant.

Samsung has been enhancing its camera technology to compete with other smartphone manufacturers like Apple, especially with the iPhone’s camera features. This context could be impactful for understanding Samsung’s direction with the Galaxy S26.

The introduction of HDR10+ in professional video mode is an interesting addition, aligning Samsung with other industry leaders who have implemented similar technologies in their devices. This enhancement positions Samsung to offer dynamic and rich imaging options to its users, marking an important step in maintaining competitive parity.

With the specific release date for the Galaxy S26 series only two months away, anticipation is building around Samsung’s latest offerings. As the consumer electronics space continues to advance rapidly, the upcoming release of the Galaxy S26 series is generating significant interest among industry enthusiasts.
