MSI’s Bold Leap with Gaming Monitors: Tandem QD-OLED Innovation

MSI has prepared a couple of gaming monitors for the CES exhibition, equipped with new Tandem QD-OLED five-layer panels. The models are named MPG 322UR QD-OLED X24 and MAG 321UP QD-OLED X24. Both, as is clear from the names, are equipped with 32-inch panels, and this is with a 4K UHD resolution. In the press release, it is said that they are equipped with a Tandem OLED five-layer panel with EL Gen 3 technology.

Among other things, the DarkArmor film is applied here, which should improve the situation with black color under bright external lighting, which is a problem for most QD-OLED. MSI claims that with it, the level of black increases by 40%. In addition, it also has a purely practical application: it increases the screen coating hardness from 2H to 3H, making it more difficult to scratch.

One notable feature that might set the MPG 322UR apart is the inclusion of an AI Care sensor, although specifics remain unclear. This could potentially tie into user health, adapting screen settings dynamically based on the user’s interaction and environment, aiming for less eye strain during prolonged gaming sessions. These monitors could position MSI significantly ahead depending on their reception at CES 2026.

The monitors could potentially support high refresh rates, HDMI 2.1, and G-Sync/FreeSync compatibility, given the current trend in gaming monitor technology. These specifications cater to the increasing demand from gamers seeking fluid, high-performance displays.
