The official Tesla Semi account released a video showcasing the updated electric truck, Tesla Semi, charging at a Megacharger station with 1.2 MW power. Project lead Dan Priestly confirmed the new Semi is equipped with a faster megawatt-class charging system. Such an upgrade significantly reduces recharge times, slashing the downtime for operators, which is a critical improvement for long-haul logistics businesses aiming to minimize operational costs while prioritizing sustainability.

The new truck features a sleek design, seamless headlight strip in Cybertruck style, and smaller side windows. The aerodynamic enhancements are expected to decrease wind resistance, thereby increasing energy efficiency further. Recently, the new Semi was spotted near the Nevada plant, hinting at an imminent mass production phase.
The original Tesla Semi was announced back in 2017. Since then, the journey to its market launch has been characterized by technological advancements and industry disruptions. The integration of a high-capacity battery and fast charging capabilities are designed to set the Semi apart in the evolving electric vehicle landscape, directly impacting competitors to innovate similarly. Now, the updated Semi is ready for market entry, and it stands as a testament to Tesla’s commitment to revolutionizing freight transport.
