In this case, it concerns entirely new GPUs based on the RDNA 5 architecture. These chips will be manufactured at TSMC’s facilities using the N3P process technology.
The Radeon RX 9000 graphics cards, based on the RDNA 4 architecture, were released earlier this year. So the generation change at AMD this time will take about two and a half years, which is quite normal. Likely, the GeForce RTX 60 might be expected around the same time.
However, it is essential to consider the current catastrophe in the memory market. Although the situation should have improved by mid-2027, we cannot rule out that AMD may postpone the launch to the late 2027 or even 2028 to avoid purchasing memory at a significant premium. Kepler, the insider, has repeatedly shared detailed information about the characteristics of future AMD CPUs and GPUs, particularly platforms for gaming consoles.
