Xiaomi 17 Ultra: A Leap in Mobile Photography
Insider Digital Chat Station shared his first impressions of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, noting that the smartphone features a full continuous optical zoom range of 75-100 mm without cropping.
The device uses a 200-megapixel sensor with an optical format of 1/1.4″, maintaining high-quality shooting across the full range of focal lengths. To achieve this, Xiaomi upgraded the HPE periscope module to a 3G+5P scheme, significantly improving optics and night shooting capabilities.
The main camera is built on an OV50X sensor, manufactured using a 22 nm process and utilizing third-generation LOFIC technology. This has ensured an extended dynamic range and significant enhancement in both photo and video quality. The ultra-wide-angle camera, after several generations of refinements, now delivers genuinely good image quality.
Sleek and Efficient Design
Thanks to the continuous optical zoom, which saves one lens, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra has become less bulky. Its body, 8.29 mm thick, no longer feels as large.
Advanced Features and Swift Charging
The smartphone features a flat RGB OLED display with a symmetrical bezel, a 6800 mAh battery supporting 90W wired and 50W wireless charging, and HyperOS 3 with a notification sharing feature between Xiaomi devices.
Additionally, the head of Xiaomi announced that sales of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will begin the day after tomorrow, on December 27, initially in China.
