Recently, Samsung unveiled the foldable smartphone Galaxy Z TriFold, but now a photo of an unapproved prototype has surfaced online. It appears different, with a camera module housing four sensors. The module is still a vertical block. Samsung previously experimented with this design, lining up four cameras in a vertical block, but neither Samsung nor other companies have widely adopted this design.
Given the existence of such a prototype, Samsung was considering the release of exactly this model. Probably, there would have been two telephoto lenses in the camera block. The production model, as a reminder, is equipped with a 200-megapixel main sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.
The competitive landscape in foldable phones is heating up. Companies like Huawei and Xiaomi have also been pushing boundaries with their foldable devices, aiming for more innovative designs and features. Additionally, modular camera designs are gaining traction in the tech community, reflecting consumers’ desires for adaptability and high-performance photography capabilities.
