Another Windows update has disrupted yet another system function. This time, those with password-protected operating systems are having a tough time. Microsoft acknowledged that the KB5064081 update complicates logging into the system with a password. At least one known issue is that the password icon might be absent or invisible on the lock screen. Simply put, users may not understand where to click to enter the password.
But Microsoft reassures users as much as possible. The point is, despite the invisible button, the password can still be entered by clicking on that same empty spot where the button should normally be. After this, a password entry field will appear. Fortunately, this only affects users receiving preview versions of updates, so most haven’t been impacted.
In a recent communication, Microsoft outlined potential resolutions and workarounds for this issue, urging users to ensure their Windows is up-to-date and to check for patches released to fix this anomaly. Additionally, they advise utilizing Microsoft’s online support forums for further guidance.
