AMD is gearing up to unveil its new Ryzen AI 400 (Gorgon Point) mobile processors. The flagship model, the Ryzen AI 9 HX 470, has recently appeared in the SiSoft Sandra database.

The flagship APU, Ryzen AI 9 HX 470, continues the trend with 12 CPU cores and an iGPU Radeon 890M boasting 1024 stream processors. Technically, the new model seems only to differ from the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 in clock speed: 5.25 GHz compared to 5.1 GHz. This update represents an iteration rather than a completely new design.
All new models will reportedly feature an upgraded NPU, delivering a performance of 55 TOPS, similar to the Ryzen AI 9 HX 375, compared to 50 TOPS for the rest of the Ryzen AI 300 lineup. However, this may not be the main concern for most users. The crucial point is the competition these APUs will face from Intel’s brand-new Phanter Lake CPUs. While Intel does not aim for high performance, the lines will still overlap, and Intel’s novelties will leverage a new manufacturing process paired with a powerful graphics core.
The Ryzen AI 400 series is expected to be unveiled at CES 2026, scheduled from January 6th to 9th. Anticipation builds as AMD prepares to make a significant impact at the event.
