Google has unveiled new features now available in Google Photos, thanks to the integration with its proprietary AI model, Nano Banana. The first of these is personalized editing of existing photos. To access this, users simply need to click on Help me edit and provide specific prompts, such as: “Remove the sunglasses from Riley, open my eyes, make Angel smile and open her eyes.”
In addition, iOS users can now utilize editing features in dialog mode, a function previously available only on Android. Users can also change the style of images using various styling options, such as Renaissance portraits, mosaics, or illustrations from children’s books. Moreover, Google offers templates in the ‘Create’ tab for Android users in the US and India. In the coming weeks, the company plans to add personalized templates.
Moreover, two other new features, unrelated to Nano Banana, are still intriguing. This week, the Ask Photos feature will be available in 100 more countries and in 17 languages, including Russian. Ask Photos is an AI-based feature that allows users to obtain information based on photos, such as ‘Which cities did I visit last year?’ or ‘The first photo of my pet?’ Additionally, the new Ask button lets users ask specific questions about the content of the image.
